This conference offered an in-depth look into the vital next steps after conception, where support in interpreting antenatal test results becomes crucial supported a network of healthcare professionals dedicated to guiding parents in managing outcomes, understanding fetal health, and making informed choices. 

 

The morning kicked off with an address by Ian Scudamore, Vice President of Education at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, setting the stage for discussions on prenatal genomics, the rollout of Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) in England, and advancements in fetal surgery. Renowned experts like Dame Professor Lyn Chitty of Great Ormond Street presented on the evolution of prenatal genomics, highlighting both the challenges and strides made. 

 

In the afternoon, a panel discussion on the psychological impact of antenatal diagnoses brought attention to the emotional aspects, with insights from Jane Fisher, Director of ARC, and Mando Meleagrou, Director of Psychotherapy for Maternity Patients at the Harris Birthright Centre. This dialogue underscored the importance of mental health support alongside medical guidance for expectant parents navigating complex decisions.
